Sometimes the most obvious things are also true things.
Dan is an artist who loves all forms of art and is proficient in several, mostly illustration, handlettering, and graphic design, which you'll discover from browsing his social media accounts. Dan has been drawing, mostly with pencils, since he has had memories. He is lately an avid user of Wacom and Adobe products and is a huge fan of layers and Ctrl+Z.
Dan graduated from Drexel University in 2014 with a master's degree in chemical engineering, a program that provided a lot of invaluable teamwork experience,
problem solving skills, and stressful nights of ordering pancakes at 3am while finding solutions for second order differential equations. Since then, he's done a lot of freelance design work, drawn lots of words, and currently works as part of an amazing three-person in-house design team at the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
Dan's interests range from analyzing/singing top 40 pop music and wandering around the city of Philadelphia to organizing rooms and discussing theology or murder mysteries over waffles. He draws ceaseless inspiration from lettering legends old and new (e.g., Herb Lubalin, Erik Marinovich, Jessica Hische, Simon Walker), contemporary comic book artists (e.g., Cameron Stewart, David Aja, and Fiona Staples), portrait painters from the early twentieth century, and the narrative illustrations of Norman Rockwell and N.C. Wyeth. He currently lives in Media, PA.
